The definition of regional territory is the result of historical and cultural processes. Its conformation is influenced by countless variables and perspectives, theoretical or empirical, that summarizes or amplifies its scope and complexity according to the point of view from which he analyzed. If we consider our country's history, it is possible to say that both their historical settings, such as the geographical outline done in colonial times opposed to what territories are today, those differences have accentuated over the years. Conformation of courts-kingdoms, provinces and captaincies, had a prominent role in this process, as was shaped during the first draft of political divisions in Republican Mexico that eventually refined or fragmented as an answer to variables of emerging local autonomies. However, territorial boundaries of a political entity did not always correspond to those of regions where they were established. Main influences were natural conditions of space and the physiographic territory and its articulation that resulted on a structural marginalization of our country.
